Hello,
My name is farzien and i am new to this forum.
I have just recieved a 2002 Toyota Camry Se V6 as a present from my parents, (mom's old car). Overall the car's performance feels numb. I know that i want to add a new sway bar (whiteline?), and new struts (Tokico). I would like to add 18'' rims to this car however, would it be possible to have 18'' rims and eibach springs that would drop the car's heoght by 2''?? I would also like to know what performance upgrades there are for the engine it's self. While looking on the trd catolog, i see that the only things they have for my camry is a cat back exhaust. I would like to get the most horsepower, and torque availble out of this engine.
Come on guys, i know it's only been three hours; but i was expecting some feed back on what to do with the engine for better performance. I know that many of you guys have the answer to my question.
Well, since no one has replied. I will give you something. I don't know about the engine or the springs but many members on here have gotten the rear TRD sway bar (I plan to in the future as well). They say that the TRD sway bars are the best ones to add and you will feel a noticable difference in handling when turning curves. No other sway bar is spoken of as highly for the 2002-2006 (Gen5 -5.5) Camrys. That's all I know.
Good luck.
Also, welcome to TN and the search (located at the top of the screen) should be one of your new best friends.

performance upgrades for the camry are fairly hard to come by. Also i haven't really heard of any performance upgrades for the V6. If you had the 4cyl 2AZFE there would be a lot more parts because it shares that engine with the tC.
Suspension and tires is IMO one of the best improvements you can make to your car. A great suspension setup really livens up the car. As long as you get rims with the correct offset and size the tires correctly you should have no problems with 18's on a 2 inch drop.

youll be spending more money than you want trying to get performance out of a camry. i say go with the suspension upgrades, drive it happily till it dies, then buy a faster car
yep. suspension is the best mod i've come by for my camry that isn't too too expensive. I've actually invested waaaay more than i purchased my car for in custom stuff for it and it's still slow as hell, but i love it all the same. its just about havin fun. maybe some day when i get big bucks i'll make her fast but for now, i'm content with cruisin...
well at least you got the v6 model so you aint too bad in power (unlike me -5sfe-) so just follow the other people's advice mostly go for suspension and you will be happier and throw in a cold air intake and full exhaust while you at it and thats it and you should be good..IMHO its more fun taking tight turns and testing its handling limits then speeding in the highway and just going straight!

TRD or Whiteline swaybars, strut tower bar, either from TRD or ebay, and I have to say that i'm partial to the Tokico/eibach combination for a performance strut/spring combo, despite the lack of an aggressive drop.

I might be one of the few guys on here who will probably not drop his Camry at all. This is mainly because I stay in hill country and there are dips in my city everywhere. I would be asking for trouble. How much of a difference does the strut tower brace make?

i'm not sure how much of a difference it makes by itself, because i did most of the mods at one time. the first thing i did was the Tokico hp struts, and i noticed a huge difference in that alone, but then when i added the springs, sway bar and strut bar it really took the way the car handles to a new level. and if you don't want much of a drop at all, but you want the performance, then the eibach pro kit is the way to go. it shouldn't drop your car sufficiently enough to affect ground clearance by more than 1" which really isn't that much at all.
