3rd Generation Changing alternator belt to by pass compressor

Hello i have 1993 camry V6 XLE, My car is constantly making metalic noise with out a/c is running. I think its the bearing on the compressor. Also my a/c is not working, so I want to change alternator belt from goin over compressor. I can buy v6 DX model without a/c belt but not sure if i can use that belt with out buying any extra pulley. I tried to find pulley/belt diagram for my car to figure out the length of the cable I may need to by pass compressor. Please tell me if shorter belt gonna work on my car or not?

Thanks.....

If A/C was an option on this car, there should be a belt listed for a non-AC car. Perhaps an auto parts store can check this for you. You will need to see if you have a straight shot from the crankshaft pulley (both sides) to the alternator pulley. Is the A/C pulley in the way?

Take a tape measure and wrap it around where you want the belt to go. If the belt can be installed, it will need to be tightened. Was this done at the A/C or alternator? Use the measurement you get from the tape as the length of belt you need.

Thanks jdm93le, unfortunetly i didn't read your reply in time, But i went ahead few days ago and have it changed by local car mechanic. I could have avoid labour charges if i knew this ahead of time. Anyways now there is no noise from my car engine. But I won't have a/c anymore. but I can save some gas money lol.... Anyone who is having problem with compressor and wants to avoid it running go ahead and buy a shorter alternator belt listed as w/o ac alternator belt. if someone needs part no. let me knw...... the belt should cost about $20-30 can, ofcourse 15%tax (ontario, canada) not included lol....
