Rain Water Collecting In Spare Tire Area HELP!!!

I got a Gen 3 '92. Is there anyway I can make a drain for this area so I don't have a big ass puddle in that area of my trunk everytime it rains?

From what i've noticed in my gen 3.5, there is allready a whole there for the spair tire lock, but if your getting water in the area around it, i sugest drilling a small hole or two. The is jsut a thin peice of metal there with nothing underneith it so it should jsut drain right out under the car.

there should be a small rubber stopper there. i know my Gen 2 has it. if yours doesn't, yes drill a hole but remember not to leave the metal exposed as it will rust. put some paint or something over the metal. (it won't be seen anyway).

don't go drilling holes that is just a band aid that is bound to get real bad with more water when it rains
and rust when it snows from salt
find where the leak is take a towel and leave it in there for know till you find the leak
there should be a small rubber grommet at teh bottom you can pop out to remove the water for now but a towel is much better
as it can be a pain in the ass to put backunless you have 6 foot arms to get above and below at the same time to place right

make sure all of you rear lights are in tight then look at the anntena area to see if the down spout for it is in the right place
basically best way is to have someone in the trunk closed while someone outside sprays water to find the leak
you may have to silicone the area
good luck

but don't go drilling holes
