I am still learning about my LE I4. I just came in from work and it was dark out side. I walked around the driver side and I noticed the little red light next to the steering wheel was not on however a red car logo with a key inside of it on the dashboard next to the clock was flashing. Is the flashing light the alarm? I always thought the little red light next to the steering wheel was one, unless it was changed. Can someone explain this?
the red light im referring to next to the steering wheel is called the integrated LED/Valet switch? Is this suppose to be on (steady red) when you put on your alarm?

As far as I know the light next to the steering wheel isn't on the Camry, just the 'logo' on the dash replaces it. I had the VIP installed at the dealer and they integrated it into the dash light. Does your Camry have the light by the steering wheel? If so, I'd like to see pictures.
In all the cars I been this use to be the alarm signal. Last night when I came home I looked at the light and it was not on. But i did see a car logo in the dashboard blinking.

I think that alarm is an after market alarm not made by Toyota. I've looked at all the Toyota accessories and I can't find that alarm. I have the 07 XLE with the factory alarm and it does not have the little car logo next to the steering wheel. I haven't seen it on any other XLE's either.

Hmmmm....The other day I locked my doors I gave the car a good shake and the alarm does not go off. If I hit the panic button it will go off. Can I set the sensitivity of the alarm or do I have to take it to a dealer?

There should be a sensitivity setting (assumming there's a shock sensor with the alarm) but since we don't know what brand alarm you have it's hard to tell.

Go back where ever you got the alarm/light installed and have them adjust it for you.
The alarm is the VIP3200 Plus that toyota sells. Is there a sensitivity switch under the wheel or something or is it an electricial adjustment?
That system is not listed for the 07 on Toyota's website. Why do you think it's the VIP3200? Do you have paperwork (manuals, etc) that clearly states it's a VIP3200? I'm almost positive that this is an after market alarm. I've searched Toyota parts and accessories sites and can not find the VIP3200. One of the tip offs is the extra light that was added. On a true toyota alarm system, the alarm would integrate with the Security light that you already had. Did you get any documentation with the alarm and if so what did the documentation say?

That is DEFINITELY not the VIP RS3200, I had mine installed AFTER I bought the car (at the dealer) and they integrated the light into the security light by the clock. That is 100% without-a-doubt an aftermarket alarm.

@$##$#$...The freaking dealer ripped me off then.
Now I got a hole in my dash.
Is the VIP3200 Plus a passive alarm? I just remember when I was at the dealer my brother wanted them to install a passive alarm so I can get a discount on my car insurance.

Yes I'm pretty sure the VIP alarm can be set to passive mode. The car will arm the alarm on it's own after a certain delay. Insurance companies love this because you never forget to put on the alarm. PITA at the drive-in movies. The default setting is active as in you need the remote to turn on the alarm.
