Accident Repair

So as some of you might know from my air resonator post I was in an accident with my camry. Pretty much the damage is to the fender, driver's side front parking/turning signal light shattered, minor crack on the bumper, knocking down the air resonator, as well as some damage to the bar across the front (help with the name would be appreciated).

Well here are some pics with bumper removed

ok so for repairs I am planning on buying of usedpartslive .com and im getting a new driver's side front fender, the parking/signal light, and the splash guard

I am planning to attempt to install all of these myself and it doesnt seem like it should be that hard but please stop me if it is a difficult install and removal.

But then as you see in this picture the piece that the light is mounted onto is damaged as well and I believe it is all part of the crossbar that goes all the way across the front of the car connecting to the headlights, fenders, side lights, and radiator. First of all can someone please name this piece as I am currently trying to find removal instructions and trying to see how many things it is attached to actually so I can find out if it is something I can handle. Any experience is helpful here.

Also as you see in the lower circled item, the little bar that connects the fender to underneath the car and where the bumper screws on is bent way out of place. It also seems I would need to replace this as well as I dont think I will be able to bend it back. Does anyone know the name of this piece as well and/or of any places to buy another one. I will check the junkyards for one of these aswell.

The one good thing about this accident is that it will finally let me get to work on my car and at least help me in future repairs.

Thanks for reading through my long post and for your help.

I have been in worse accidents and fixed it up. As long as you have the parts, the rest is straight foward bolt removal and assembly. Some bolts are hard to reach behind the fender and you might need a wrench set as well as a standard socket set. Now for those bent pieces. The bent piece on the right, by the fender, looks like it can be bent back in place rather easily or hammered into place. The Bent piece under the hood is another story. I think if you were to get them professionally pulled it shouldn't cost you that much.

Edit: Looking at the bent piece by the fender, I think if u could find that fender or bumper at the junkyard try to get that bracket along with it. Also, could u take a photo from above showing that bent piece under the hood?

okay I guess Ill try to find out if finding a junkyard with the pieces or just getting it professional fixed on the bent pieces is cheaper. For the part that is bent judging by this picture, http://www.usedpartslive.com/catalog...OTA~CAMRY.html
i believe it is the radiator support that might be bent on the driver's side. But this leads to another problem I have found many of the products on here that I was going to get are "for USA built cars" and I believe mine is Japanese built due to the code on my driver's windshield starts with the "J". Do you know if the USA and Japanese parts are actually different so that they would not fit on my car. Also if I were to buy one of these parts would they have to be primed before being installed to prevent rust/corrosion?

As for pictures I need to take the fender off to get a better upper picture but the damage just seems to be done to the radiator support part or w/e it is.

I dont think the parts wil come primered and even if they did they might use cheap primer and I would suggest you prime it yourself anyway. Both parts should be the same regardless of where it was built. That crack on the bumper, is it on the top or bottom?
The damage isn't that bad and you could totally fix it.

Can u take some photos of the full front? I would like to see the full extent of the damage. I cant really tell how damaged the bumper is.

P.S. those broken clips around the bumper, they way I fixed that problem on my talon was I used the old bolts with washers and tightened it. Worked fine.

okay they told me that " All parts are primed and ready to be painted (unless chrome plated.)" But I will try to prime it again.

That crack is a tiny crack on the top of the bumper on the driver's side. Besides that clip and the crack there isnt much dmg to the bumper other than scratched up paint.

I also emailed them to make sure the USA parts will fit. Hopefully they will, but I want something to show them if the end up not fitting.

Thanks again gridlyne and ill edit in a few minutes with more pictures.

so far im not too worried about the bumper, if I could somehow fill that crack that would be great but if not it wont kill me.

Im just trying to check out those online manuals to see what I need to do to remove the radiator support.

edit: ok so successful got the fender off and was able to mostly straighten out the piece connecting the frame to the fender and on which the bumper mounts. So shouldnt have a problem with that anymore. Now I just need to wait for some parts. Only problems now are just the connector for the headlight to the side lights is broken but I will figure that out, either a new mount of gluing the mount back together. And im hoping the new light will fit alright so I dont have to do some major body bending.

Thanks for your help and I was able to save the splash guard as well. And I get a spoiler and a paint job to turn my car black ^.^
