Gen5 wider tires = lower MPG?

hey folks, i'm gonna get some new tires for my 16" wheels. i'm debating between 2 sizes.

1) 205/60/16

or

2) 215/55/16

the 205/60/16 is what Toyota uses for Camry, right? i'm thinking i'd get a bit more traction if i go with 215's. sidewall height from either tire would be virtually the same. but i heard that with more traction, fuel effiency will suffer. in any case, both tire sizes are a good match in overall size from stock (205/65/15). which size should I go with?

Yes wide tires lowers MGP because of increased friction, if a small loss of MPG borhers
you id go for the 205, if not id go for the 215

i'd tell you to get bigger rims with wider tires to balance the increase/decrease mpg benefits of both but when you're worried about how 10mm of extra tire will affect your mpg, i wouldn't think you have that kind of money to throw around.
