3rd Generation Apexi SAFC II

I just put my hand on an Apexi SAFC II unit

Unfortunately I haven't seen anything really revelant in previous thread avout a SAFC.. maybe I did bad search in the forum..

I don't see the Camry in the Apexi SAFC II car list, anyone can tell me what is the sensor type, terminal drawing and other details that might be important for the installation of the SAFC II ?

Also.. if anyone have tips about that

I'm thinking about doing a full "howto" with pictures of my installation process and also about the calibration.. A friend of me have the Innovate LM-1 and know how to tune the SAFC so it will be safe for the engine once I know how to do the installation properly

As some may know I have a spare Camry.. I will install the SAFC in it first(without tuning it) to make sure I'm doing everything fine and to know exactly where to go when I will install it in my daily driver and for the pictures.

Hit up Toysrme and he will show you a wiring diagram for the smt-6, the safc will only use 8 wires for the 3vz-fe, the only wire you need to change from the diagram Toys has is the rpm signal. Its a very easy install and it only took me an hour to install the safc2 in my 3vz-fe Camry and 4a-fte Celica

I am sure that if you documented the project, and got some noticable gains, very many people would be interested in it.

Regular folks just writing down what they are doing is what makes up a quite significant amount of what knowledge is available to obscure car enthusiasts.. like us

There are ways around it, remapping the microsoft servers, stopping the service, using a firewall. But what I personally do is close my curtains, wrap my computer in tin foil and yell "BRING IT ON" over and over again. -Drunken_panda

Im running an SAFC2 on my turbo 4th gen and I love it. Look at the Toyota section, I am running a 3 bar MAP out of a Supra so I used PR03 I think or mabe it was PR01 most of the Map sensors are the same either 1, 2 or 3 so find a non turbo toyota of your year and see if the y all have the same map sensor number. I actually had to tap a fuel injector wire for my rpm signal on my wideband and I used the camshaft position sensor or mabe it was the crankshaft sensor for SAFC2 rpm signal. Look for NE+ on the wiring diagram. People say the SAFC2 hack is bad on a turbo car because you pull fuel out which advances iming but I used bigger injectors and a three bar map sensor so I nver take fuel out I only add fuel its zeroed out for low throttle and for high throttle its +15%, +20%, +23%, +24%, +25%, +26% currently. On an NA car you will pull some fuel out whee the Toyota ECU makes it pig rich around 4.5x rpms.
