3rd Generation Spark plug type.

I have a '95 Camry V6 and I am about to change the spark plugs on it. However, I am a little confused on the spark plug types out there. I have seen platinum, iridium, and copper spark plugs. Correct me if I've missed a few. What I am looking for in a spark plug is smoothness and performance.

What spark plug type would be best for my 1MZ-FE?

Use platinum which comes with most cars now; or use iridium if you want to pay alot more money and they are better for modded cars. Didn't know they have copper one???

Platinum plugs are fine for a stock car and much more economical.

Stick with Denso double platinums. About $6 each at Autozone. NGK plugs are good too.

You can get iridiums if you want, but performance increase is negligible and twice the price.

Copper plugs, just avoid them because they won't last as long as the platinums.

i hated the bosch +4

denso dual ground it what came stock (well ngk but denso is cheaper) and works the best, but the later engines came with iridium

also the copper will get murderd in this car, the 95+ is a waist ignition engine where they fire twice per revelution. and why the bosch isnt that great is because of the spark like that one fires core to ground and the other fires ground to the core.

I've always used NGK on my import engines. That's what's in my 95 Camry now.

Camry uses a waste spark ignition meaning that two spark plugs will fire at the same time even though only one of the cylinders is on compression stroke. On one of the spark plugs will fire from ground to center and one will fire center to ground. So, effectively, each spark plug will fire twice during each 4 stroke cycle. Because of that, the spark plug's life is effectively halved.

To counter act that, Denso and NGK spark plugs are double platinum and have twin grounds so that the life of the plug is doubled after being halved by the waste spark ignition system.
