Camry Fuel Pumps..

Would it be possible to use the Fuel Pump from a 96' Camry V6 1MZ-FE...and transfer it to my 92' Camry 4cyl. 5SFE? Im not trying to upgrade or anything. I just need a fuel pump to get it running and it just so happens that my friend is parting out his car. Thanks In Advanced.

I would ask the auto parts guy...if the parts numbers are the same, it will work. If not, i shouldn't think so.

Hey Rasco. I dont know whether that fuel pump would work out for you or not. Would you mind sharing exact thing that you are experiencing in your 92 camry that you need another fuel pump?

I had a neon with fuel pump issues, people always recommended using new fuel pump instead of a used one. There are many companies that make after market fuel pumps.

You would have a chance IF:
1) It fit the same mounting bracket
2) The delivered pressure was identical (I understand that the ECU is pretty finicky about this in order to get the correct air to fuel ratio)
3) The wiring was compatible
5) The plumbing was compatible

With them being this far apart (in years and engine models) I just can't see it being interchangeable.

When I have a question like this, I go to any on-line auto parts website and check the part numbers for the 2 cars using each individual car's year, and engine size. Like marc780 stated, if the part numbers are the same, the pumps should be the same. You may have to change out the brackets.
