Door handle jam!!!

I'm inquiring as to the reliability (or preference) of OEM door handles (sand colored Gen 4--Drivers door) vs any old brand.

I've seen 'em in ebay and the dealership, my question is "Is a door handle really just a door handle or should I beware and do a little mo' research (if so, any good sites)

WHY? YOU ASK: ON monday, I was getting back to my car in haste, pulled my door handle and SNNAAAPPP!!!! the sh*t came off right in my hand (insert your favorite joke or pun here). I can still get in..part of the handle is reinforced.

I have never heard of that, I do not think it is a camry thing at all.
any suggestions on where I can get a replacement.

damn, I guess I do need to see my girlie more!!!

motion.

me personally..... I would go to the dealer and have them put a new one on.

I'm not a fan of "other brand" parts. I have APC clear corners and a Pioneer radio but I see those as upgrades.
If I have a mechanical part go out on my car, I only replace it with oem. BUT, I pay out the ass for it.

It all comes down to what you want to pay and how you feel about mixing and matching parts.

right..good rule. (I am not big with mix and matching on mechnical parts like those either)

that may be my "end awl, be awl"--the dealer, but I want to make sure I give some time to research the "just as good as OEM vendors" just in case there are any--for a door handle

you're right though, Tex..sometimes the extra money is worth it.

I went through a "crazy" shaving all the handles off moment, but I figured-- "If it's not in the budget right now--dont do it. plus I dont think that would be for me.

thnx

Go OEM on a relatively inexpensive part that needs to be durable and stand up to use day in and day out such as a door handle.

You're not the only one this has happened to.
