There are 4 bolts inside the trunk that have a lot of thread sticking out, so even with my deep socket, I am unable to reach the nut itself. I dont think there is enough room to get an open ended wrench in. Are there super deep wrenches? Flexible openender?
The main reason I want to remove it is to repaint it. I could do it on the car, but I need to drive it everyday so I'm afraid of getting it mucked up.
You probably don't need it but I do have the Toyota service manual (pdf) that shows how to remove the rear bumper cover.
If you think it will help I can email you the section that shows how to remove it.
I have just 2 weeks ago replaced my rear bumper with a junkyard one. I have 02Camry. I do not have deep sockets and so had to borrow from a neighbour. It was quite tight as well, not because the deep well socket didn't fit but because I then needed an extension tube on the socket. I just measured the socket and it is 2.5" total depth.
Try again.....it should work.
This is an old thread, but here goes....I have a dent in the driver side corner of the rear bumper, I know I can push it out, if I can get to it. Anyone have pictures to show me how to get to it? I think I just need to free up one end, rather than remove it. Anyone know how to help me?
Possibly could if I know what to look for...It's closed up pretty tight, I have to figure out how to open it from below. What kind of clips are there, and what do I need to remove them?
