You cannot use the AWD tranny in FWD application.

any 3sgte is a 3sgte.... there's no way to make a AWD tranny from a celica work on a camry..what you can do is weld the shaft going to the rear diff shut....

here's a list of em

1st Generation (190 HP) 1988-89 ST165 (Celica GT4/All-Trac)
2nd Generation(200 HP) 1990-93 ST185 (Celica GT4/Alltrac)
1990-199x(?) SW20 (MR2 Turbo)
3rd Generation (260 HP) 1994-99 ST205 (Celica GT4)
Note: not released in U.S.

There are some differences between MR2 3sgte and Celica 3sgte.
(alternator bracket & location, oil pan level sensor, etc..)
By the way, 2nd JDM 3sgte is rated at 225 hp.
You can also get a 2nd gen 3sgte from ST185 RC/CS version.
They use different ECU and have larger AFM.

The easiest to find is 2nd gen 3sgte from JDM MR2 turbo or ST185 Celica.
1st gen is cheaper but there are more aftermarket parts for 2nd gen.

For info on 3sgte, check out www.celicatech.com
Ask people there about the experience with JDM engine importers.
IIRC, there are couple people that have done 3sgte swap in your area.

Done... annnnnddd... done.

Price/performance ratio is often best with a gen2 3s-gte motor. These can be found on '90-93' model year JDM cars and on US MR2s up to '95.

Keep in mind that this swap will cost $5k and up. (ok, you CAN do it cheaper, but you have to work really hard at it)
