small electrical things.

one of my 97's camry back lights wouldn't light up and shows me warning on the dash, what should I check for, is there a fuse for lights? Also my dashboard stoped lightning up, when I turn my headlights on, what is the fuse for the panel as well? Thanks for all the help in advance.

The warning light means you have a burnt bulb in your tail lights. As for your dash, most likely a burnt fuse. I don't know the location of it since I have a Gen3. Look in your manual.

Try swapping out the left side for the right side on the tail light problem. Make sure that you're changing the "same" socket. If the problem moves from one side to the other then the bulb is the culprit. If the problem stays at the same socket then the socket is the problem. Look for corrosion and/ or loose connections. A fuse is possible but they typically will affect several bulbs, not just one.

The dashboard is a puzzler. My first inclination is to make sure that your dimmer knob is turned up. If you want to mess with it, pull the knob out and bridge the two wires. This will be like having the knob set to bright. If that works then the dimmer switch is bad. If you're saying that the dashboard lights up initially (like when you have your parking lights on) and then shuts off when the headlights come on then I have no clue.

thanks for the help, no dash doesn't light at all, not when parked, not with headlights. So the question stands does anybody know what fuse controls the dash? Thanks

I don't have a '97 but if there's a flip-out 'tray' below and to the left of the steering wheel, try pulling it out to access the fuses. Or it may be behind the kick panel.
