Wrinkled caliper piston seal/boot

Hi everyone. I noticed something weird changing my brakes today; my caliper piston seals/boots on both front claipers have become 'wrinkled'... no tears or leaks that I can see... the seals were fine ~6 months ago and the braking performance seems fine to me.

Any ideas what could have caused this? Should I replace the calipers, or does anyone make seal kits (and where can I get them)? The 99 Solara caliper is the same as a 99 Camry one, IIRC.

Anyone have experience doing a caliper/seal replacement? I've never unhooked them because I'm scared of getting air bubbles in the line.

Thanks in advance for your help everyone!

Here's a diagram I made of the problem:

Is this the boot or caliper seal? The boots prevent dirt, etc from contacting the caliper piston. The piston has another seal you cannot see that keeps the brake fluid contained. If you push the piston back too far into the caliper to far, the boot can get wrinkled. There are caliber seal kits available containing this boot plus the seals, etc.

Hmm - I thought they were the same thing. This is the only ruuber visible on the caliper aside form the hose; it's even with the top of the piston when it's depressed. So it's just a debris shield basically? I didn't remove or touch it so I don't know if the inner one is ok, but I'd assume so - no leaks.

Do you happen to know where I can find such a kit for the car (99 Solara/Camry, same calipers), and/or how to replace the boot? I'll avoid touching the inner seal if it's undamaged.

Can I pull the boot out and put a new one in, without removing the caliper from the system, and without touching the seal - ie no fluid or air bubbles in the line to worry about?

Thanks for the info !
