Replace Intake Pipe with 2.25 pipe and it stalls?

Okay, i had my stock air box in. I also had some extra 2.25 piping and couplers. I removed the rubber hose with the resonator on it and replaced it with a 2.25 pipe, thats it, the intake temp sensor didnt move or anything.

Start it up, the car stalls... but with the rubber hose it doesnt.

Anyone know why?

How big is the stock pipe? Do you need to replace it?

There should be a hose that goes to the idle controller for the idle air feed. Without this..the engine will stall straight after your fire it up.

You going to go turbo again?

That's weird. I have a 2.5 full CAI but the Cam doesn't have any vaccum lines or anything so the bung that comes on universal intakes, it's useless. Because it's dying.. and this is a reach.... but.. have you tried just cleaning the throttle body? I guess the only other thing you could try is to check and make sure all the lines that lead to the throttle body are connected and working properly. If memory serves me correctly, there are four lines but I'm probably wrong

Have you ever seen my car, its always clean so yes the TB is okay

Yeha all hoses are conencted right. They are both 2.25 piping, one is rubber with a resonator and the other is alumized steel. There is no tubes that connect to the stock rubber part.

No turbo yet, i wanted to use the stock air box for now since i sold my 3rd intake and i was trying to do a cheap way around all the restrcitions of the stock one. oh well.

I don't know too much about the gen 3 but does it have a MAF sensor? If it does maybe you didn't put that in correctly?
