3rd Generation v6 p0125 cel

ok i have a 96 2dr v6 i recenetly changed my radiator. couple days later had a exhaust leak got it fixed and stil have cel. my check engine light came on i went to advanced autoparts and they gave me this code

po125
closed loop fuel control insufficient coolant temp

i have no idea what this code means any tips will be helpfull

it basically means that the coolant isn't at a warm enough running temp. Check to see if your cooling fans are constantly on and also check your thermostat.

Agreed. Check the engine coolant temperature sensor (Toyota calls it an ECT sensor) with a DVM and the specs from any manual. There is a generation 3 manual stickied at the top of this forum.

Probably not. The default is probably running a richer than normal fuel mixture. Long term this could damage the cat converter. If it is the coolant temperature sensor, it's a relativley cheap fix. Get it fixed soon.
