Turn Signals???

Help, a friend ran his 2001 Camry into a gate and knocked off the marker light assembly. We "repaired" it and got it back on, but now the turn signals won't work. All bulbs are good and light up, and emergency flashers work. I've read that the most likely problem is that the emergency flasher switch isn't getting power or is bad. Where is it, and how do I check it. Thanks
