Trim Adhesive

Ok guys so my camry is pretty much repaired now, new bumper, fender, light all installed, turn signal working fine, Last thing before just washing my car is the transfer of the trim on the fender from the old to the new. When I pulled it off of the old fender, the trim was just held on by 2 strips of some type of glue tape or something. There was also 2 clips if you could even call them that since they didnt clip or hold onto anything. So I was wondering would something like doublesided tape be strong enough to keep the trim on my car, or does anyone have any other recommendations.

Ill post pics when im done

I use 3m Weatherstripping adhesive at work alot. No other brand, 3m. It is strong as all get out at holding rubber-to-metal, or even rubber-to-rubber (I have repaired my shoes with it at times) as long as you follow directions.
