Question Anyone try this yet?

http://www.duplicolor.com/products/shield.html

hield, from Dupli-Color, provides temporary spray-on protection for your vehicle where bugs and road grime can do damage. It’s ideal for the front end, rear quarter panel and rocker panels. Spray on Shield as a temporary bra for long road trips, quick mud flaps or as a bug guard. Shield sprays on easily and dries in less than a minute. And best of all, it stays on until you wash it off. You can power wash it off or use soap and water. Rain, snow or moisture in the air won’t affect it. This product leaves no residue on a vehicle’s paint. Give your vehicle the protection that it deserves with Shield.

I bought it and I tried in a part of the inside of my trunk, I'm going to leave it for a day and try to wash it off to see how it works. This will be useful for my cross country trip!!!!

I'd like to know if prolonged exposure to Sun causes any problems. I noticed that they didn't mention anything about it.

I called the company and mentioned the sun issue, he said the products has been tested beyond my imagination! They told me it's consisted of a synthetic wax mixture and to tell you the truth the spot I spryed it on. it's pretty clear, just has a texture to it. I told him I was going cross country with it, he said most likely by the time I get to CA and if it rains alot during my trip, I'll have to re-Apply on my way back. But still that about 2500 Miles of bug $hit protection, which we all know how they mess up paint! I will be applying it tommorow, they did tell me you have to mask your headlamps and fog lamps though

My first impressions:you'd need about 4 cans or more to cover your front as well as he does in the video.
The power washer he uses has a lot of pressure,I'd be worried about damaging the clearcoat protectant.
soap and water cleanup looks like it requires a lot of elbow grease.
what about the ecological disadvantage, the product getting into the mainstream. Just thinking?

Well, I put it on today and it went on pretty easy... Masked out the headlights and emblem, and just pulled out the fog light inserts and sprayed away, used about half a can!

The best description is that it feels just like if you left on a coat of clear wax on and it has matte finish to it.

No matter what, bug goes destroys the paint, so if I'm protected half way the the U.S. that's just that much less bug goo I have to srcub off my paint!!
