I know its fixable, but could someone sorta give me an 'guess-tament' on how much they think its gonna cost?
do y'all think i should fix it or just go get another car? what would u do?
*EDIT*.. how do u get gas out of a tank.. i filled my tank up 2 mins before i wrecked! @ $3.00 a gallon, thats 40bucks.... i could put some in my lawnmoer or give to a friend who needed a little to get somewhere..thanks
I take it your insurance isnt collision and so you are not covered for this love tap - sorry you had to get your car banged up like this but, the body work will cost thousands, my guess would be >$5000 and i think that might be lowball. And as you've probably already decided, not exactly a DIY project.
Im with southpawz, time for a new car i think -
It was raining like heck and i was gettin on the on ramp and as i come up a 18 wheeler was in the next lane.. as i start to straighten out, i hydro-planed into the other lane... now, i'm goin 30 but the 18wheeler was goin about 55-60(speed limit) and i slide into it and it pushed my off the road and down a steep hill.
and no, i just had liability on this one and i'm surprisingly fine.
and.. i've never sold parts.. do i take this think apart? but where do i take it too? .. i was planning on sellin the whole car to a junk yard and use that money for a down payment on a new one
this is my first accident, i'm 18.. my mom ws just happy i was still alive
oh, about the clear coners.. if i could get a price on shipping and procedures i could get back at you with a price (wont be much)
If you take it to a junk yard they will probably not give you very much $$$ at all for it. You will come out way ahead by parting out all you can on it. Start a post in the for sale section and have people ask you for diff parts and then quote them a price and pull off as needed. Bigger stuff like the engine/transmission and things like that you can probably sell and have the buyer come pull them out...I know if I needed a good engine or tranny I would be willing to pull it myself if the price was right....this way you dont have to fool with some of the harder stuff just let the buyer pull them or price the car as a whole to someone for parts. Then once you have it stripped down to what you cant sell then take it to a junk yard and sell it for scrap ...you will get about the same price for scrap as you probably would have by taking it like it sits now.
Glad you're ok. Honestly if insurance isn't going to cover you, no reason to report it. They'll deny you than raise your rates. I would sell it on ebay myself, with buyer having to arrange pickup. The repairs (if you're not skilled to do them yourself) are going to cost you more than the car is worth. I personally love the Scion xB's if you're in the market for a new car. Jon.
part the car out. it would be cheaper to buy another camry. use the money you get from parting the car out to help pay for a new camry. my father owns a body shop and i can give you a ball park of about 2500-3K. mainly because of the damage extent to the rear corner. a new door would bolt right on, and if the fender support isnt tweeked, that would bolt right on. the quarter though, will have to be cut, replaced, welded and blended in. get that hub and c.v.replaced and you're in business. not too bad of an accident though. i've seen much worse. if the car holds sentimental value, fix it. if not. replace it.
