so.....yeah, I'm gonna be getting spacers for my wheels soon, and I just want to get some info before I pick the sizes.
right now I'm rolling on 17x7 wheels - I shoulda gotten wider in the first place, but I knew didly shit when I got them, so whatever....get new wheels later....
for sure, I'm going to get the wheels to be flush with the body in the back (currently tucked in a bit - you cam owners all know how it's like), and there should be no problems. But what I really want is for the wheels to stick out a bit, like half an inch or so, just to be noticably wider .
if I just make the rear wheels flush, I won't touch the front wheels, cuz they're basically flush already, but if I push the rears out further, I'll move the front ones out too.
Now, this is where my questions start:
if I push the wheels out furthur than the body and I hit some hard bumps, will my wheels hit my fender? and if I push out the fronts, will it affect my steering and cause problems (presuming AFTER getting an alignment done, of course)?
I drive a 94 V6 Camry, and my suspension setup is Eibach and KYB- Eibach drops aren't that low , but KYB = kinda soft . And I'm planning to get REAL spacers= H&R spacers.
Thanks for all input- but please keep it informational.

1- It'll look ghey. This won't matter in your case
2- Yes, it will hit your fender. Won't matter 'cause your car will look ghey.
3- Susp. geometry will be off enough to prove that you're ghey
Pushing your rear wheels out will make your car understeer even worse than it already does. Assuming that you want a wider track to make the car corner better, what you are doing is actually COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.
As Phi pointed out, it will look very ghey if it sticks out. You'll ride like a 4 x 4, with NO PERFORMANCE GAIN.
Spacers are not recommended if they do not provide sufficient thread engagement for the lug nuts. Also 99% of spacers you buy out there do not have hubs on them, causing your rim to float on the wheel studs, instead of on the hub.
So all in all a big

I'm SUPER, thanks for asking;
All things considered I couldn't be better I must say.
I'm feeling SUPER, no, nothing bugs me;
Everything is SUPER when you're...
If you're serious, sell your rims and put that money towards the purchase of a wider set of wheels. Alternatively, work with what you have and invest in a really good set of tires.

wow you guys are mean
well it would look ok if they are just a 1/4-1/2 inch out
makes the track a little wide but more stress on the suspension
better 2 have higher offset rims
and the rear even a little shaving the inner fender trim will help but next to impossible to extend the rear body properly
i've read that there is nothing worse for inducing drag than a spinning set of tyres sticking out from the fenders. thats why race cars have those really flared guards, so they can fit lots of rubber in there.
