The biggest ordinary battery that fits is the 95Ah battery that came with the 2-TC engine (turbodiesel, witch is rare) if you want a battery that fits the original batteryshelf in the enginebay that is, if you want bigger then that you would have to stuff it in the trunk.

35 is the nomenclature for a battery of certain size, CCA rating, and terminal polarity.

I do not know how the numer is derrived, but automotive batteries, at least in the USA, are designated a number depending on the size, CCA, and positioning and polarity of the terminals.

Ah thanks for that. Yeah ive never heard that before, here in Aus battery's are usually refered to by the CCA or RC ratings. Like, "460CCA" or "115RC" for example. In my experience moreso by the CCA, as that "generally" denotes how big it is (within reason).

Why do you want to go bigger?!?

I specifically went smaller (and cheaper!). Less weight and it still starts the car with no problem and allows me to play the stereo for a few hours with the motor off...

Unless you live where it gets horribly cold, the stock battery is overkill.
