You really can't do duals on a four-holer in the true sense of the term, unless you wanted two exhaust manifolds (one for 2 cylinders, one for the other two) There is only one bank of cylinders; thus, one exhaust manifold and one pipe. What the aftermarket guys do is split the pipe into two in back, so that you have two mufflers and two tailpipes but from the mufflers to the engine it's single exhaust. I doubt you'd lose much backpressure, as long as you don't use too large a pipe diameter(too little backpressure results in weak bottom-end torque, something we 4-cylinder guys really can't afford with our heavy Camrys). I can't really answer the body ?'s but I'm sure there's at least 20 ppl here who could.

Like stated, you can do it for looks but it's not going to net you anything. I thought going from a smaller -> larger pipe was a flow velocity issue though?

in order to get the best response from the dual setup you would probably want to go from a 2.25 diamter tubing to a 2 or even 1.75 actual exhaust tip It may look stock, but that's the best way I've seen to not lose any power.

I heard something like, if you lose too much backpressure, the exhaust gasses will flow too quickly over the valves and overheat them. Is that true as well?
