Coolant problems HELP

Hello,

I have a Toyota Camry (1992 SE) with 186000 miles.

2 weeks ago I had the water pump and timing belt replaced on the car. A few days later,

I noticed a leak beside the radiator cap. There is coolant all over the place.

I thought the radiator cap was bad so I bought a new one at Toyota.

Well tonight one my way home from work, when I pulled up in the driveway, I looked under the

hood and there is coolant leaking still!!! The car does not overheat but if I get lower on coolant

I can hear the rad fan a lot more.

Do you think the mechanic put in a defective water pump or I just got a bad cap?

The radiator was replaced 6 months ago.

Thanks!!!

Did you check the actual radiator to engine rubber tubes for leakage? That is a very common place for it. After time, they get rotted and leak.

yes, check for all hose clamps.. your mechanic might have used the old ones. There are a total of 5 hoses that comes out of radiator. Two of the bottom are for transmission. Dont even worry about those if there is not pink colored leakage. you can buy a bunch of clamps from dollar store. Make sure they are securely tightenned.

I would actually go with asg14 more on this one

the clamps can be reused, but many of the times, the radiator hoses harden with age and can have small cracks as well as just seal badly

also, do you have a picture to show more specifically where the coolant is leaking? just saying beside hte rad cap doesn't help that much

Update

After I posted my first message I went back to my car and let it idle until I see where the leak was coming from. It finally was coming from the radiator hose!! (The upper one)

I drained all my coolant and replaced the hose.

It seems like it is not leaking anymore.

Second problem...

I have a bad knock sensor on the car, I noticed that the car will stumble on acceleration and the idle will fluctuate or get a little low sometimes...

Is that caused by my IAC or EGR valve instead of the knock sensor?

I would like to clean both to see if my car stumbles on acceleration still

Thanks!!!!

well- first, how do you know that it's the knocksensor?

if you blew one, then you should have a CEL....what kind of gas you put in the car?

Premium fuel

I use premium fuel.

I went to Toyota they checked it, it's a bad knock sensor...

Not sure if it causes erratic/low idle + making the car stumble when I accelerate.
