3VZ-FE or 1MZ-FE

Is it true that the 93 US Camry V6 uses 3VZ-FE while 94 and later uses the 1MZ-FE?

Which other cars uses the 3VZ-FE. I'm thinking of buying a used 93 Camry V6 but don't want to end up with an uncommon engine.

Thanks!

unfortunately only some older toyota trucks share the 3VZ.... the 1MZ is far more common in North America, whereas the 3VZ in more common in japan.

Thanks! So is it true that the US 93 Camry V6 uses 3VZ-FE or does the 93 use the 1MZ-FE?

the 93 uses the 3vz, and so does most of the 94 models.

only the ones that were made later in 94 had the 1mz

i think it had to do with emissions etc..because all 1mz's are OBDII, and 3mz was OBDI. May be other reasons as well.

So will the 3MZ being OBD 1 pose a problem?

It's got a VERY strong block. It's very forced induction friendly.
