Help With 2nd Gen Bumper!

Well, if you guys dont already know, i got 88 cam and I was wantin to take of the bumpers to paint them the same as the body, and I wanna do it good so I was gonna take em off that way I can take my time on em I thought that they were bolted into the body/frame of the car, but from the looks of it, they're welded on (at least the back). And I tried to just take off the bumper cover (which is all I'm painting in the first place) but there were soooo many 10mm bolts I couldnt get to. Anyone have this poblem, or know how I can get to all those bolts, or if there is another way to at least get the bumper covers off??

If it's too much trouble why bother. You don't HAVE to take them off to have them painted. You can just have it taped off and only the bumper painted or do like I did and paint the entire car at the same time.

Which bumper are you having trouble with? On the rear bumper on my 90 Camry the rear bumper cover is bolted on to the reinforcement bar and you'll have to take off the reinforcement to get to the bolts they are attached to the top of the bumper cover. It's a line of bolts that goes across the top of the bumper from the inside. So I assume you're having trouble with the bumper cover not coming off from the top right?

The majority of the post that I put up was dealing with the rear bumper, cuz i havent looked much at the front bumper. But yes, im having trouble with both of them.

Talisman18: I wanna do a GOOD job of it, and I dont wanna have to tape it off and on agasin a few times. I wanna be able to do em when ever I have the time, and not have to tape everything off everytime I get a few minutes to work on it.

And also how do I tke off the reinforcement bar? From what I glanced at, it looks like its welded to the body/frame. Am I overlooking something?

I don't know.. I never really looked into how to remove the reinforcement bar after I found out I had to take that off to get access to those bolts for the bumper cover. So I just gave up and put everything back together.
