3rd Generation wierd question, probably a longshot

what is the probability that the cause of my engine stuttering was from an interference in the electrical current caused by my battery's handle touching both terminals simultaneously?

yesterday i moved it out of the way while i was in there. i thought nothing of it.

and then today when i took it to a tune up shop to show them the problem [thread on "the problem": http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t149115.html], it wouldnt do it. almost as if the problem was gone, and never existed.

wth is going on, the problem disappears when i try to show someone. im pretty sure im not crazy.

someone give me clue

If the handle is plastic, it shouldn't cause anything. If you want, you probably could cut the handle off.

I agree. All handles on batteries I have seen are plastic. Plastic is not a conductor of electricity and therefore should not cause a problem. You will notice that the red cover over the positive post of the battery and it's terminal is plastic. If it makes you feel any better, cut it off as has been suggested by touringcamry, but you will still have the intermittant problem.

?

What is "handle"?, you really meant "battery clamp/terminal" did you not. No, i hear you say you disconnected the battery and touched it with tool or something and it zapped. If it starteted the car, it is fine.
Provide more details and we will help you!

Some batteries come with a carry handle that is clipped onto the side. They are there to help you lift or carry the battery.
