I drive with ECT (Electronically Controlled Transmition i think ) off, unless u get stuck in a pile of snow like it happened to me today thanks to the frickin' weather here in Canada, then if u turn it on it's gonna give u a hand getting out of it hopefully !

Electronic Camry Turbo

J/K...Electronically Controlled Transmission. I'm not exactly sure how/if it works, but it's supposed to be used during those times you need that extra umpff to over-take and pass ppl on the hwy. They might as well have called it Turbo :p I've used it on occasion.

Really !!!!!!!!! I've never used it that way, but now that I heard this I'm gonna try it and see if it really gives some boost !

Dude, don't be stupid, it's not a "Turbo" and doesn't give you a "boost".
The computer just selects when it's best to downshift, thus putting your engine into a sweeter rpm range.

When I said "boost" I didn't mean the turbo-like boost. But what the hell man, with the wimpy I4 that I have I should use everything that I can to get more power right !???

i lOVE ECT! i always use it when i need a faster acceleration, faster top speed, and just like whenever i wanna go faster...but i refrain from using it when my gas is at a quarter or lower, cause it really eats up a shit load of gas...cause off all that engine stress and RPms and shit..lol i still love it

it holds a sweet spot but if you need more power just drop the pedal the tranny will shift
no use to waste gas
it is really a waste of time one more reason they don't offer it anymore
i would much rather have had traction control or second gear start for winter and sport mode
