2002 camry v6 se starter problem?

I/m wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and can offer some advice...my camry suddenly won't start...it has 110,000kms and i have had no prior problems. the battery works fine, power to everything but when i turn the key i just get a clicking sound and the dashboard warning lights flash.

if anyone has any insight, much appreciated

sounds like a starter solenoid

either you can just replace the solenoid, or you can just pick up a rebuilt starter for pretty cheap

as a temporary fix, the starter will usually work if you tap it with a hammer

you may also want to check your connections at the starter. check both the power and ground. go from there. also, for shits and grins, use a voltmeter and check the voltage in the battery and make sure the cables are good and tight.

If you are hearing 1 click, then the problem is the starter's solenoid internal contacts. If you are hearing multiple rapid clicks, then the problem is with the battery, corrosion on the battery post/terminal connections or the conections at the starter, or the cables leading to the starter and ground itself.
