What kind of glue do I need?

Toyota camry 98

There is a black rubber at the back of car, just under the back trunk. Some part of it has been broken. I want to use glue to fix it. But I have no idea on the type of glue. Is there anyone who can give me some suggestions?

Here is a picture indicated the rubber

Clean the adhesive off first, and if that was done easily, remove the entire strip.

I think they do not use glue but the two-sided tape (3M), my company used to do the parts like this before. If glue, I think it's 3M for automotive parts.

3m weatherstrip adhesive. I use no other kind. I have tried the others, dont seem to work and leave a big mess too.

To avoid a mess, put wax or grease underneath the area it will drip onto first! Meanwhile, clean the area to be glued with acetone or lacquer thinner or any other good solvent, windex may work if you have nothing else. Follow directions on the tube, and dont worry you look like a fool in front of your neighbors while you hold the thing in place for 4 or 5 minutes waiting for glue to tack. Leave it alone, plan this for when you wontbe driving the car a while - longer, better. And it should hold, 3m is da bomb when it comes to this shit.

You probably could use epoxy also.

two-sided 3M foam tape works great. i would shy away from glue or epoxy that dries hard. since its on a plastic bumper, it needs to remain flexible, expecially if you dont want it to come off again if something bumps you lightly.
