Wassuppp? I have a 1992 Toyota Camry LE and I want to convert my antenna to an S2000 antenna because my antenna does not go up and down anymore. The antenna I have right now is motorized and has a nut that is not able to be screwed on with the S2000 antenna so therefore all I need is a 2000 Toyota Celica Antenna nut right? The only parts I need are the S2000 antenna and the 2000 Toyota Celica Antenna Nut so that the S2000 will screw on to the nut right? Thanks please reply back to tell me if I am going to be doing this correctly.

False! you also need the Celi Sub Antenna assemply. Do a search on "S2000" You find instructions posted by SBC
If you run into difficulties holla back.

What is the Celica Sub antenna assembly? Is it hard to install?
As I said in my reply to your private message on the same subject and as Phi pointed out AGAIN, very clear instructions have been posted on this site. Use the search function.

My antenna just broke (wont go up and down anymore) on my 95 Camry (seems like this happens often huh?) so I'm looking to do the S2000 antenna conversion.
I have already removed the coat-hanger antenna itself, but not the whole "unit" behind the trunk lining. I've read all the S2000 antenna discussions on this board that I could find and still have a few questions:
After pulling back the trunk liner, I see the antenna "unit" bolted onto the frame by 2 gold screws/nuts. I am suppose to remove this ENTIRE thing and bolt the celica sub-antenna to the same holes? (i understand a lot of bending of the bracket is required to do this)
Yes, you are correct. The unit that is bolted on is the motor - which no longer works as it should. Unbolt that, and replace it with the Celica sub-antenna. The part which requires bending is the bracket for the Celica sub-antenna. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. My Celica sub-antenna and nut came today so I'm just waiting on my S2000 antenna now (should come anyday now).
I got the antenna bracket bent to fit into an existing screw hole on like the first try so that made me happy =)
I've got a few more questions:
1) In an earlier thread, you said: "The only modification required was to trim a bit off the bottom part of the "antenna ornament" (official parts dept. name for the rubber boot on the rear quarter panel around the antenna). "
To my understanding, the original antenna ornament/boot is still used when the S2000 antenna is installed right? Why does the bottom part need to be trimmed and can you explain how it should be trimmed?
2) Also in another thread, you saidL: "Hey Phi, did you get the "ornament" (black round thing around base of antenna) too? "
to which Phi replied: "Yeah, I had to get the ornament too. It was $13. I installed the whole thing in like 15 minutes. "
What ornament are you guys talking about here? Do you not use the stock Camry antenna ornament?
Thanks for the clarifications and I hope to get the installation done soon.
Thanks for making very good use of the search function.
As I recall...
Yes, the "ornament" is from the Camry. It needs to be trimmed (only a little bit) because it sits a little differntly on the Celica sub-antenna. I remember that I did the trimming only to achieve proper fit and seal of all the parts. So make sure you pay attention to that and trim accordingly.
I think Phi got the ornament because his was busted. You shouldn't have to get it.
Sorry my memory is kinda foggy. Hope that helps.

BTW, if you're in the Toronto area, I can meet up to help you with the install. I'm sure my memory will be refreshed when I have all the parts in front of me.

Yes, use the stock Camry "ornament". The reason I bought one was because mine was broken. Also, you'll have to do a little bit of cutting on the ornament to make it stand up straight/perpendicular/90 degrees... you get the point
