Hey,

I remember a while back you mentioned that Yoshio quoted you $5000 for a 3SGTE swap. I got some questions, perhaps he mentioned these details to you when you asked him.

1) Would it be the US or JDM version of the 3SGTE ?

2) Does the swap also include a new tranny ?

3) Did Yoshio mention exactly what was included in the swap ?

4) How long would the car be in his possestion for him to complete the entire process ?

Thats about it for now. I'm sure I'll find some more questions, but anything you can't answer because he never told you, i'll be glad to contact him myself to get the answer. Im planning a 5-speed swap in the spring, but it may be pointless if a different tranny is used for a 3SGTE swap, which was on my future plans list.

If a new tranny is not included in the Yoshio swap, then ill definitely do the 5-speed swap this spring.

thanks, latez.

It could be either/or. It depends on if his supplier has a US or JDM one in stock. I did some research on my own and found a guy in the US that had some of each kind.

2) Does the swap also include a new tranny ?
It depends on whether the engine that he/you get comes with the tranny and ECU. Some do and some don't.

3) Did Yoshio mention exactly what was included in the swap ?
He didn't say much. But when I found this JDM engine with tranny and ECU in the US I asked him about it and he said that he could buy it for me and do the install and he estimated it all to be $5000 when it was said and done.

But there could have been a problem with ECU if he needed to do any custom work in case it wasn't compatible with a Camry setup.

No idea. We didn't get that far.

Hope I have been of some help. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions in case I forgot to mention anything.

I was there too so maybe i understood better..

1) Would it be the US or JDM version of the 3SGTE ? From what i understood its 100% sure he would get a jdm..

2) Does the swap also include a new tranny ?Yes he said it would if he wanted.

3) Did Yoshio mention exactly what was included in the swap ? Full engine install with ecu piggyback also a turbo rebuild if needed.

4) How long would the car be in his possestion for him to complete the entire process ? Between 1 and 3 weeks depending on the work needed.

If you got a 1mz-fe then the 5spd bolts onto the 3s-gte too.The tranny code is the same just minor parts change like the flywheel i think.

The info. I gave Ratko is based on conversations I had with Yoshio the week after because I had found specific engines in Colorado that were available immediately. So the conversation was based on that.
