90 Cam reverse light switch $290 ?

I need to pass safety check and I can't get the reverse lights to work. Changed bulbs, wiggled wires, checked socket areas, checked main fuse panel under hood. The dealer said that it's prob the rev light switch @ $290... that's insane (sounds like a Mercedes) ...Make my own switch? Mike

wow, that's some mark-up. if you need to buy a new one goto 1sttoyotaparts.com it'll run you 170 or less with 5% shipping. I'm assuming you have an auto trans. Wonder why it's so expensive. Highest MSRP is $236.11 btw, so that's damn near $60 mark-up after taxes and such.

Before you replace that switch, read the thread below. You might be able to fix the problem.
