Steering wheel and alignment

While I was backing up with my wheel fully turned, I hit the front driver wheel against a pole (no damage though) and after that the steering wheel does not line up straight when the wheels are straight.
It is off as if I am making a left turn. How do I get this fixed, gurus?
Will a tire alignment fix take care care of this

Thanks.

most likely, yes.

but make sure that you go to a reputable shop to get your alignment done, such as a dealership, because they will tell you if any part of your suspension needs replacement/fixing/tightening (such as a tie-rod) before getting an alignment, since any loose suspension parts means a useless alignment that will be off

this is a just in-case thing, since you actually hit something to change the alignment

The alignment shop must inspect for bent front end components.

For next time, keep an eye out for Service Specials. The dealer near me has alignment Specials every so often for like $75.

Sounds like the rack shifter over in the rubber biscuits....

If they are oil soaked, it will cut the one at the input shaft and let the rack move from side to side.

Just a thought...

It's all over but the shouten now...

x2. Never pay more than $80 for an alignment at the dealer. Almost every dealer I know of has service specials on alignments.
