Yeah, whenever you replace struts or springs, you'll most likely need an alignment. I would recommend getting the 4-wheel alignment, it's usually only a few dollars more expensive.

probably should so you dont kill your tires or have the car pull when youre on the highway. though im still waiting to do so with one of my cars after replacing the suspension, and its been almost 2 years now.

why would you need an alignment? i've replaced a ton of struts and never got any alignment and all was fine? it doesnt change the alignment, so why would you do an alignment? please correct me if im wrong and explain how it affects the alignment.

I agree. Only toe-in is adjustable, camry castor and camber are not adjustable. When you replace camry struts, the tie-rods are not affected. Wheel alignment is not necessary. If you look at the camry top strut mount, it is fixed, unlike some european cars where they are adjustable. The bottom of the strut that attaches to the hub axle is also fixed with 2 bolts. Unless of course you replaced these 2 bolts with aftermarket camber adjustable bolts, then you would need realignment.

Yes you need an alignment. Just because the steering wheel is straight does not mean it is in alignment. When i lowered my car, my steering wheel remained straight and when i hit the alignment rack, it was ALL OUT OF WHACK!! the alignment was way off! Everytime i do suspension work i do an alignment, i even did an alignment after my big brake kit .

That's bcos when you lower your car, it affects camber. You need aftermarket camber adjustable bolts to bring it back to spec. Common sense.

Original threadstarter did not lower his car. And he does not mention he has aftermarket strut adjustable camber plates or bolts. So only thing adjustable is toe-in. Please explain to me why toe-in needs to be readjusted. Removing and reinstalling strut does not involve touching the steering tie-rods.
