Is this for show? In that case I would say bigger is better, so go for the 18's. But for performance I would recommend forged lightweight 15" rims (now thats a performance mod!) but we all know 15's arent the most attractive size so go for the 17's, they're a nice balance between being show and being practical.

Cool, TE37's are spectacular rims. Im pretty sure they were made by little Japanese elves cuz those things are magic.
As far as the tranny search, looks good, TAP Recycling quoted me $500 USD for the V6 5-speed from a 92-93 and Im just waiting for them to get back to me regarding if the donor car has everything else i need for the swap such as the pedals, shifter a**embly, center console, console, etc. If the swap goes through, i wont even bother with an OEM clutch, ill just grab a decent street clutch from Clutchmasters or something and at the same time grab a lightened flywheel.
latez.

i actually found the website for the lightened flywheel its http://www.aluminumflywheels.com im using centerforce dual friction.. its cool but it hurts in traffic hehehee... oh yeah make sure when u order with the donor car make sure u ask for all accessories for inclusive of the transmission so u dont get missing parts everywhere and b4 u put in the car might as well get the tranny re worked b4 going into ur car...

hey ratko how's ur tranny search...??
this one is for show i am saving up a set of 16" Volk TE37 wheels for races...
why save up for TE37's when you can get the same performance out of the old school starforms r2's. the difference is the price and about .25lbs... For example TE37 15x7.5=9.2lbs , Starform R2's 15x7.5=9.7lbs...
These go up to 17"s only and 17"s are only 14lbs.
i have (well...had) 18 inch Konig Caffeines on my Gen3. there is a huge diference (in looks that is) than the 17's. it is noticeable. the Camry being a bigger car, IMO, requires the rims to be bigger to get that balanced look. but then you also have to take in consideration that your performance may suffer and your driving habits need to change (re: speedbumps, potholes, pebbles , etc.)
i would post a pic but i only had them on for week after i purchased them before the snow came. wasn't able to take a pic in time. my car wasn't lowered either so it looked really strange. time to save up for the suspension for when spring comes.

Yes its a direct fit if you use the 4th Gen Shifter assembly... all you have to do is clip off these clips on the side of the assembly...
17s will give you a better ride, and will look better with moderate lowering. If you go with 18s you'll need to slam the car, otherwise it will look like a 4 x 4. 18s look much better, but only if the car has a very minimal fender gap.
So in short, it all depends on whether you want to slam the car (i.e. at least 1.75".

that's quite a slam i think that's too low lots of humps to hit!!! dont wanna keep on scrapin... i thought 18's would be cool in a 1.5 drop ?? how much is urs dropped?? dont u have 18's??? cos im avoiding coil overs because i already got my springs and shocks from TRD and dont wanna remodify it anymore... im just looking for more suspension parts... without diverting to coilovers...
thnx. jeff!!
Honestly, 18s will NOT look good with a 1.5" drop. When the tire sidewall is equal to or shorter than the fender gap, an optical illusion makes the fender gap appear bigger than it is.
Mine is dropped a good 2"-2.5" on the coilovers. The ride is harsh, even jarring at times, with the big 18" rims compounding the effect. But that's the compromise you make for killer looks and amazing cornering. However, scraping has not been a big probelm - even with my RMM front skirt. Just got to be careful.
In any case, my advice is to go with 17s if you are sticking with the TRD (sourced from Eibach, I think) springs. You will be very happy with ride quality if you have this setup.

On my 3rd Gen I have VIS coil overs sleeves and I have 225/40-18... In front I'm tucked by a 1" past the top of the tire and on the rear I'm past .25" past the top...
