I'm soon planning on getting an engine from japan for my camry to get the heads ported/cams grinded/etc.. during the winter to put in the camry during spring.
I read that there is a difference between '92..'93 and 94+ 3VZ-FE (185hp/190lbs-ft vs. 200hp/205lbs-ft)
Anyone know how to recognize a 1994+ 3VZ-FE ?
There are many engine importers around here but I can't really trust them on that

I'm talking with an importer who lives in Japan to see what he can do for me..
I also asked him about the center tail light written "Scepter" and he said he haven't seen much of those.. The guy usually import entire cars (Skylines, etc..) into Canada <-- but that's an other discussion.. let's keep focused on the 3VZ

I'm lookin' out for one of those versions too, that is, if mine ever dies.
I "heard" that the epa(?) was cracking down on engine importation into the US, especially for different spec engines, so the only way to bring 'em over might be the canadian grey market. which is no worry... not like the border's secure, or even manned.
