Brake light

Sometimes when i'm driving the BRAKE light comes up out of nowhere then goes away after awhile, then it comes back on again. Has anyone ever ran into this problem?

Re:

Hey Bro

Well back in the day with my old car I had the same problem.

I took the console apart and cleaned the contact switch at the bottomn of the E-Brake Handle and it worked fine till I got rid of the car.

You may have a shorted switch or a dirty switch.

Or maybe you have a short somewhere else but thats the easiest thing to try.

Hope it helped a little at least.

oh you mean the emergency brake /brake problem indicator
first check the level in the brake fluid res is at the proper level
does it happen when you turn?
then check the connection for the wire that leaves the brake cylinder for damage

I just started noticing the same problem on my Gen 3 except what happens is the brake light wont turn off when I disengage the E-Brake. It will eventually turn off. Like this morning it turned off after about 5 minutes of driving, when I was about to pull over to check it. I'm going to check the contact switch to see if thats the problem. I notice this happens when I engage the E-brake all the way.

It's typically the brake fluid. Although it may be in the ideal range, top it off with FRESH fluid. That should get rid of the light.
