Alrighty.... Finally got my 96 camry lowered. HR springs. 1.25" drop. Took my car to Gilman (in GTA area) to get 4 wheel alignment and while I was there, I asked about camber correction. First, I was told that you cannot adjust camber at all on my car by one of the guys there. Then, I was told that I do not need any camber adjustment for such a small drop and that if I do need camber adjustment, I'll need a camber kit it to do it. That's all fine and dandy but I'm almost positive that there is a possibility to do minor camber adjustment without needing a camber kit on my car. From the different posts i've read here about camber adjustment on my car, it seems that you should be able to do +/- 2 degrees with out needed a kit.
Also, I read a couple posts here that say that you should be in the car when they do the camber adjustment so that your weight (which is off-center of the car)is taken into account.
Am I being jerked around here or just being paranoid that I'm being thrown for a loop?
Well I did need a camber kit also for my 94 v6 when I put on the H&R's. I had them first print out the report to lok at to see how far out it was. For me I was necessary to have it put on.
Don't you love how the car handles noew? Night and day eh?
I was under the impression that was some built in adjustability in the front and back and that a camber kit was only necessary if I had a much lower drop.
But I do love how it handles! Definitely gonna need new wheels and tires soon...sidewalls are already taking a beating!
Debt, eh? Actually.....no....I've got bigger fish to fry...like saving up for what looks like Toyota's next big push for market share. Hopefully, if Toyota ships the Caldina to Scion, we'll get it too.... and HOPEFULLY, they will bring the Chaser here too! Pipe dreams as that may be, it reminds me that every dollar I pump into this car is a dollar less into a REAL performance car... but Toyota had better hurry...if we get the Honda TSX Tourer, I might have to jump ship.....
