Belt problem

Here we go, i went out to check my plugs took one out, looked fine put it back in...all is well. Then i notice that my belt is a little loose, so i loosen both the top and bottom bolts on the alt. and start to turning the tensioner bolt. Well shit then the thing broke. What the hell am i going to do know? My belt squeals like crazy know, and at least when i first start it up and rev. a little i have the smell and smoke that a lawn mower would put out. I dont have a clue right know what i am going to do. Some suggestions would be of great help. Thanks and i hope that i can get this fixed soon.

Reed

well i got the bolt for the alt. off, and trying to find one that will fit at the local hardware store but no luck, guess i will just have to go somewhere else to find one that will fit. But the smoke thing is still there, not nearly as bad when warm, but still there, you can probably defenetly smell it when i get on it and you are behind me, but the whitish lawnmower smoke really isnt there much when it get warm, what could this be from? Well anyway...i still would like some suggestions on what i should do about this stuff. Thanks

well i removed the tensuner and got the bolt out of it, couldnt i just buy another bolt to fit and fix everything? The squeeling for some reason isnt there today, i think when i tryed to get the belt as tight as i could i somehow got the alt. krucked slightly and thats what made the belt squeel, but know it is just loose. I will get it fixed soon. Thanks, any other suggestions would help.
