Custom Gauges, Maybe

Hey Guys

Question:

I know a friend (Shawn Hill) who had his gauges scanned at a sign shop and they were able to make him a sweet gauge with different designs and color. Well I talked a local sign shop where I live and they said they dont deal with Vinyl. (I didnt know thats what they were made of anyways)

Do any of you guys know where I can maybe send my gauges and have them work on getting me some custom ones done for me. Or know if a place like SpeedHut that makes custom ones, I have emailed them several times and got nothing back.

I have a 1997 Camry, with auto tranny.

Thanks and any help would be great.

Sean

I want to replace the speedometer, fuel/temp, and tach gauges. they are seperate 3 gauges. (97 Camry). I just want to get a custom look during the day with another color like blue instead of the very common white faced. But not sure if I can get them to light up at night but will have to see what I can do as far as getting them done at all first.

Any advice would be great.

If you really want to see my gauge setup go to my cardomain page listed below.

Thanks Again.

Sean

Re:

OK.

First, to the individual above. I dont know where Shawn had his done. But what I do know is they dont do them often it was just a friend that worked there and tried it out. But there is allot of places that do make them custom but I dont know who or where?

Thats why i started this thread is to find out where and how much it would be.

Next.

To the guy with the instructions on custom gauges, I am down to check out the DIY set-up. Email me them if you can and if it seems practicle and easy I will give them a shot. Thanks Allot.

why not just go to a place that do signs? you will be using the same type of vynl decal like they use for windows. I'm not sure If the light will shine through the thicker vynl.

Re:

Smokey

Well I half ass tried that (going to a sign shop) since my girls dad works at a neon sign shop in Saly Lake City and he said they couldnt do it. Probably since they dont deal with vinyl maybe. Didnt ask many questions, he said no i said ok. hehe.

But I will try the DIY form I got from the above post and if that doesnt work then I will try better looking around. I am in no hurry since I have a new bodykit and many other mods sitting around waiting to be installed still. Just looking for something new to do while I work on the interior in a few weeks.

Thanks,

Sean A.

I got custom gauges made for my 1991 Camry. I went through MMRUSA.COM

I am pleased with the results...
here is the link
http://www.mmrusa.com/toyotagauges.htm

they have them for the 97-00 but only for manual...but they custom made mine so they can do the same for you for the same selling price...

Later,
Matt
