Question oil from over fill?

i just took my car in a few weeks ago and got my oil changed, should have done it myself but live and learn, anyway, before my car wasnt leaking oil, and now oil is coming from somewhere. im not sure if its because of a seal, or could it be just because they over filled it? the oil is full, its a 92 camry.. any ideas?

doubt its too full, but you could check the dipstick, make sure its near the top of the markings,

other things to check would be the drain plug, and oil filter

or you could give your engine a good wash and wait a few days to try and identify the source,

you sure its motor oil?

Start by identifying the general area where the oil is coming from (i.e. distributor side, belt side, front, back, etc.). It's pretty hard to cause an oil leak when changing oil, other than not tightening the drain plug (tighten with 14mm socket) or oil filter (hand tight plus 1/4 turn) enough.

There is also the possiblilty of a missing drain plug gasket, which is like a washer. Other than that, you couldn't have caused it by doing an oil change.

I've had the oil changed in the v6 and noticed that when they took the filter off oil was spilled. Maybe that's where it's coming. Always remember: If you want something done right, Do it yourself. These oil change places are too careless!!!

na, well its impossible to take the oil filter off a gen 3 v6 without getting a bit onto the exhaust manifold, but that should be it

drain the oil, into somethign clean, take off the filter, lube the seal, put it back on, put the oil back in, top it off,

make sure the filter is on as tight as you can manage by hand, that does the trick for me
