what sort of "performance" mods do you have on your engine that would benefit from "performance" plugs? If you're stock, just stick to stock plugs with proper gapping.
as rpj1984 mentioned, Toyota plugs are Denso. NGK makes decent plugs too.
The front three plugs are DIY but the rear 3 Plugs are well hidden and hard because of the 60 degree V6. It's not an easy task for the home mechanics to tackle. I say Phi has the right idea about doing the Iridium plugs... I had my mech put in Bosch +4 Platinums into my Gen 3 Camry and I don't know about performance but it does start quicker than it used to
It's only a 4 cylander engine, & the only engine mod so far is a Ram Air intake. I'm looking at performance plugs because when I turn the key in the ignition, it doesn't start as quickly as it should. I had various people tell me that if I tried using some sort of performance plugs, that it might fix my problem.

Other than the money factor will performance plugs be harmful to the car whatsoever or simply redundant??? I need to as well buy a new set of plugs so thanks for posting this topic.
So what would you do to the engine that would make the performance plugs useful? Is there a certain order you should do things with my 5sfe to get the most out of it?

Unless your engine is force induced (turbo or supercharger) or your running the magic bottle plugs are not going to make a difference. So stick with what is recommended for your engine (Denso or NGK).
Now if your engine is forced induced or on the bottle you can run colder plugs.
