hey guys, I should've thought of this while I was staring at your cars! The original gen3 grills have a horizontal fin halfway up, right? Did you guys just cut those out, fill in the holes and paint?

Yes, that's exactly what I did. Not only the horinzontal ones, but the vertical ones and the center logo as well. Just use and small saw, or a Dremel if you're confident, to cut everything out. Make sure you pre-mark your cuts. What I have also done is to make the grill more shallow so the mesh won't sit as far back. You can then drop it off at the shop for the filler and paint; or like Henry, a complete DIY.

I believe Ratko has a picture of the latest iteration of my grill from the last time we met up. Please post it if you can, Ratko.

Check back in the earlier posts, I believe page 6...some one posted about really screwing up his grill...there's lotsa info there...but Jeff said it all...just cut, fill, and paint!

that person would be me! but i eneded up able to use enough filler to correct the problems and got it painted and mesh in back looked pretty nice but wut sux is that iwas involved in an accident just recently and now i have stock grille again =

my gril was real easy to make. i9 went to home depot and got the grill. i cut it out to the opening in the front.then i painted it and then i used wire tired it to the three pieces in the middle. this might sound corny to you guys but my car is black and you can't se the ties and it looks pretty good.
