I have a question. Has anyone on here, put air shocks or bags on their camry? I am going to put airride on my 94' 4-cyl sedan this summer and I was wondering if anyone has done it here. If so, could you give me a price range. I'm thinking its goin to be around a grand or maybe two grad for high quality ones. I don't want the best but I deffinately DO NOT want some cheap ones that wont last. If anyone can give me some help, I would appreciate it. THANKS in advance.
I have been looking into the same setup.... airstruts are about 500 for rear and 500 for front..... Looking at about 2K for everything, including compressor, lines, valves, fittings, tank, etc. I would recommend doing the job yourself, it'll save you a good deal of $. You can check out AIM Industrys web site, they have air struts for camrys or go to www.justairlinks.com they have about everything you need. Good Luck.
here's a pic of me and my tricked out Camizzle in front of my hizzle. you betta not be coppin my style boiee!
seriously though... there's a couple of Camry's out there that have gone the air or oil route. i came across that pic on CarDomain. so you might want to check there.
Originally posted by kmorphosis OT- RayRay did you put the RMM lip on yourself, and if you did got any advice or tips to put it on?
remember those Highlights books we all used to read when we were in elementary school??? and there were those exercises where you had to find the duck, book, trumpet, etc. in the picture? you must've NOT done very well on those, huh? j/k
sorry... that's not my pic. like i said, i just came across it when i was on CarDomain.
with the air lift kits do you need to lower it as well to get the lowering effect? i'm not really understanding them well.. do they replace or assist your springs/shocks?
bags completely replace your strut setup. you dont need springs or anything. you just remove your stock struts and pop the bags in. i had airbags and it was a nice ride when they had air in them. you can do the install yourself if youve done any type of wiring before. by the way, i have 4 bags 4 sale with brass fittings and 1/4in line. looking for 6 bills if your interested. they were on my ride for about 1 month. i personally didnt like them but not because they didnt work. just not my style. let me know if your interested. this will save you some $$$!

All you need are strutbags (pretty much a strut assembly w/o the spring) The airbag replaces the spring so you can control how high or low you want the car. Pretty simple.

ok i had the same discussion in my class (the corner with the 6 car nuts and 1 mini trucker)...basicly air shocks (air cylinders) are better than bags cause unless u have something in place to keep your car from going all the way to the ground....if you blow a bag they all blow...thus dropping your whole car slammmed onto the nice soft black top (imaginge goin 80 and your frame drops to the ground....on a highway)
we were basicly talking about hyralics vs bags vs air cylinders
