AC problems

My AC suddenly failed last september.... it's getting warm now and I need to fix it.

Symptoms: No cold air. If I push the AC button, the compressor doesn't seem to come on (no change in RPM or engine idle noise) So... where do I look?

I'm checking fuses right.....NOW!

I checked fuses...I can't find a fuse for the AC... does the relay totally replace the AC fuse?

You checked the fuses under the hood as well as the passenger compartment too, right?

I think (but am not positive) that there's a relay in there for the AC. Kind of squarish.

I don't even know how to check a relay.... the passenger side area isn't labeled. There was 1 relay and a couple of big fuses over there....

R134a leak/No R134a.

You probably don't have gas. If you don't have gas, compressor will not run, because the system will not let the compressor overheat.

You probably have a leak, most common spot is in the evaporator, which costs $$$. Hope you still got warranty.

Depending on the leak, the gas pressure can go out very quickly. On our other car, we had it recharged, and it held pressure, but the next morning, the gas pressure was gone. And no, you cannnot hear the gas leaking, because it is very small most of the time, but big enough to let gas out overnight.
