oil filter

I would like to increase the size of my 5s-fe oil filter for better engine protection plus an added increase in oil capacity. Does anyone know a bigger oil filter that will fit the 2.2L Camry engine? Someone told me that the oil filter for 2001 Celica GT-S is taller than the filter for the 2.2L Camry engine, thus it has a more surface area and it will fit the 2.2L. Anyone tried using this Celica oil filter before or the better question is, will it fit?

I can't imagine it would be that much bigger. What exactly would it do? More oil would help you out how? Maybe you could go longer between oil changes since you've got more to use? I don't really see how much more oil you would actually gain... maybe a quarter of a quart?

Bigger filter=bigger surface area and holds more oil. Bigger surface area= better filtration. More oil= increase in lubrication in the engine. Better filtration+better lubrication= better engine protection + longer engine life. Even a half litre makes a lot of difference for the engine. 500ml= 14% increase in the total volume of oil that is available for the engine. I think this is significant especially for a Toyota engine that is famous for sludge build up.

Does anyone know if I can use 1MZFE Camry (V6) oil filter on a 5S-FE Camry engine (i4)? I have quite a few of oil filter for 1MZFE engine and who hate for it to go to waste.

Has anyone does this before? If so was there any problem?

for a while now i've been using a larger filter on my 3vzfe, i just take the stock one, and compare the diameter to others in the store, works fine for me

i agree with you 110%. i used to use an acura nsx oem filter for my acura legend because it was a lot larger than the ones for the acura legend. this increased my oil flow especially at high rpm. at high rpm on some small fram (or other bad aftermarket filters), some oil actualy gets skipped and does not get filtered.
