Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted on this forum but my 92 4cylinder camry has served me pretty well until now. I have a hairline crack on top of my radiator. It's on the black plastic part. It's starting to leak coolant. I seen these patch kits from Kragen, I was wondering if those really work? IF not i'll have to replace it, do you guys also have any links where i can order a new radiator for cheap. What would you guys do? Any help would be appreciated thanks!
I had the same thing happened to my son's Honda.
I did not use any patches, just ordered a replacement from www.rockauto.com
For Honda's radiator the price was 62 dollars (I ordered the cheapest).
In appreciation they gave me a code for 5% discount. I you want to use it the instructions are below:
Your discount code is:
526342466818
Here's how to use it:
* In our Java Catalog, enter your code in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart.
* In our non-Java Catalog, enter your code in the "Discount Code" field of the Shopping Cart and click "Calculate Discount."
**NOTE: We sometimes get calls from people who put the word "discount" in front of their code and do not get the discount. Please enter ONLY the discount code, no other words or numbers.**
The discount takes 5% off our already-low prices, and there's no limit on order size or the number of orders. Use the code for your next order, and share the code with friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks.
This discount code expires on December 26, 2006; so don't wait!

92? Feel lucky it lasted that long...spend the 120-200 for a new radiator.
It's one of the easiest DoITYourself Jobs on the camry.

Drain some coolant out to stop the leak. Clean the area thoroughly with alcohol to remove any coolant, grease and mold release agent. If the kit came with a fiberglass cloth, cut it to fit the damaged area with some overlap onto the surrounding area. Abrade the complete area the cloth will be covering and then clean the area again with alcohol.
Follow the epoxy mixing directions. If you want, only use half of each bag in the first step (hardener/resin). The remaining can be use to touch up the area later. Abrade and clean between applications of epoxy. Make sure you get complete epoxy coverage of the damaged area and that the cloth is saturated with epoxy. Let the patch cure the required time as specified in the directions before adding coolant. Work fast; the directions do not lie when they state you only have a few minutes before things start to set up.
