USA 2000 camery throttle problem

12/2/2006 88,900 miles
I have a 2000 CAMERY that I just purchased. The throttle seems to have a very hard spot when pressing down. Sometimes it feels like a bad cable. I have grease, oiled, push, pulled everything. I had heard it could be a throttle body problem. Where can I go to find out how to clean the throttle body ? Thanks, John C.

My car (see my signature) had a sticky throttle right off idle some time ago. A thorough cleaning of the throttle body fixed my problem.

Do a search....gobs of info here on that job, along w/ some nice DIY threads.

Good luck!

The link below provides access to service info to take the engine apart. Do a TN Carmy search for "throttle body." The results will turn up the hits you need to clean it.

Get some throttle body cleaner and spray in the throttle body. Scrub it some with an old tooth brush. Should help out a bit.
