windshield washer lights

Hey, I just bought illuminated windshield washers, and it has 3 wires,
The back instruction says 1 black wire as a ground, 1 white wire to the side parking light, and 1 red to the positive.

MY goal:
I want to make it so ONLY when I activate my main lights, the windshield washers light up.

Here's what I've tried:
Black to ground, red to battery positive, (as soon as I do these two, the thing lights up even with the key not in ignition)
then when i hook up the white wire to the main light and turn on the main light, the washer light goes off.

How do I stop the light from lighting up with the keys out of ignition?

its a 2001 camry LE v6

help please.. im lost.. thanks a lot

I can see some flames comin' on this one....uh huh........

basically, just ignore the white wire then.....just ground the sucker, and then hook up your positive red wire to your lights- that way, when you turn on your lights, voila......nipples are on too.....

have fun, and don't get shot

Eye8Pussies got both aspects on the nose:

1) IMHO, windshield washer nozzles, LED valve stem caps, etc

2) tape the end of the left over wire to keep it from touching anything else.

The best solution would be to take them off and smash them to pieces. Then drink some holy water so that the ricer demon that has possesed you will leave. From then on you should be saved.

Can I get an Amen?!

Just kidding, just do what Eye8Pussies said.

Yeah... except the ones on the side mirrors are to alert the people on the side as well... so in order to fulfill that function, I guess you'll need to put these nozzles on your side windows too :p j/k
